Offered in this auction is this completely original and rare 1946 red swirl General Television 5A5.The maker of this radio is General Television & Radio Corp. of Chicago.The cabinet is made of Bakelite with ivory colored trim.The cabinet measures 9”x 7.25”x 5.5”.I have ordered a replacement back panel that is included in the auction.
The cabinet has been cleaned and polished to a high gloss and isfree of cracks, hairlines, and tube burns.There is one almost imperceptible hairline on the ivory grill, bottom left.
The radio chassis does not work and is sold as is.
